The journey begins in the scenic haven of Chopta, nestled within the Garhwal Himalayas of
Uttarakhand. Often called the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand,” Chopta enchants visitors
with its lush meadows, dense forests of rhododendron and deodar, and panoramic views of
snow-clad Himalayan peaks. It also serves as the starting point for the trek to Tungnath, the
world’s highest Shiva Temple. The moderate trek from Chopta to Tungnath is filled with
vibrant wildflowers and occasional glimpses of Himalayan wildlife, offering trekkers both
adventure and tranquility.
